Answers to Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Chapter 7

What are the normal fees?

The range of attorney fees varies with each attorney.  Our fees are normally $1,750 for Chapter 7 cases with fewer than 20 creditors, or cases that we anticipate to not have problems.  If the case involves a business, our minimum fee is $2,500.  Clients must also pay $100 for the two mandated "Debtor education" courses.  A credit report fee is $28 for an individual and $50 for a husband and wife - this is to ensure that Creditors listed on your credit report are included in your Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and notified not to contact you to collect existing debts, unless approved by the Court.  The Bankruptcy Court filing fee for a Chapter 7 is $299.  Other fees may be necessary, but are discussed with each Client prior to incurring such fees and costs.  Attorney Huffman has more than 36 years experience in handling Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases and does all that he can to keep the burden of filing Bankruptcy to a minimum.
